The Meso-American Barrier Reef runs over 900 kilometers from Cozumel to Honduras. The section of reef off Mahahual (Costa Maya) has many finger formations that have created canyons and swim-throughs. The reef here is very healthy and in almost pristine condition – you will see cactus coral as well as many hard and soft species.
